Activities mark Phong Nha - Ke Bang five-year anniversary
A festival celebrating the 5th anniversary of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO will be held in Bo Trach District, in the Central province of Quang Binh on July 26, with various cultural and art performances.
The festival aims to call for measures to prevent the illegal trade in wild animals and advertise cave tourism potential and the unique cultural values of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
Major cultural and art activities include a fireworks show, the Nghe Temple festival in Phong Nha Cave, 'Gastronomy and trade village specialties 2008', a chant festival held by the local culture department and many other activities.
Also on this occasion, the provincial people's committee will host a scientific seminar entitled, 'The global scientific value of Phong Nha - Ke Bang world natural heritage' and release a book, 'Quang Binh cultural heritage'
