Lights in the sky
Travelers who enjoy beautiful firework displays in the sky will have a special chance to experience them in the central coast city of Danang later this month. Danang City has scheduled its first international fireworks contest on the evenings of March 27 and 28.
Teams from Canada, Malaysia, Vietnam and Hong Kong will unveil their 20-minute displays to music, at heights ranging from 190 to 250 meters.
Vietnam and Hong Kong will perform on the 27th Malaysia and Canada on the 28th.
On the occasion, the city is planning a number of food stalls, exhibitions, installation art and music programs along the Han River and other locations in the city. There will also be sporting activities including a boat race and two night-time festivals, complete with flower garlands and colored lanterns, on the Han River.
The organizing committee, in cooperation with Glorious Singapore Pte. Ltd., will spend US$300,000 to light up the Han River Bridge, while Tran Phu and Tran Hung Dao streets will also be decorated with lights. Spotlights will also be installed along the Han River during the festival.
